So most of my feminine touches have been finished on the house but seeing as i'm a woman i'm sure they will change over the next few weeks. I'm starting to feel settled in and getting used to the way of life again. I think being back in canada for almost 3 months spoiled me. I forget that when i need something i can't just go out and get it and when i do find what i want i'm not willing to pay the price. For example we went out looking for one of those plastic rolling trollies for levis paint, i've seen them everywhere so i figured no problem. $60-$80, i don't think so. I guess cardboard box it is. I tried to buy tomato paste but it was not in the computer so nope i couldn't buy it. I also forgot how you have to watch them enter everything into the computer cause twice already i've caught them entering something more then once. I don't know if it was an honest mistake or not but it happens. Everyone thinks wow you live in the tropics but let me tell you, living in a third would country is a lot different then staying in an all inclusive in a third world country. Don't get me wrong i love it but sometimes you find yourself on the other end of things when you have someone say go back to your own country. You don't hear it very often but i guess there is racism everywhere. But even with all that you have to look on the bright side. With the exception of a few the majority of people are wonderful and have such big warm smiles. Our little neighbour boy brought me another mango this afternoon even after i told him to go away. I guess i should explain. Levi has finally found a honda cub to rip apart, redo and sell. So friday he bought the bike and ripped it apart, Saturday he painted the base coat and today he was putting it back together. As in true 50 style it was not going back together as easily as it came apart. A bunch of the neighbor boys was standing around and being very distracting and trying to play with pica all around the bike. Well levi was a little frustrated so i had to tell the boys to go away. I always feel so mean when i have to be so blunt but it's the culture here. You say it like it is. About an hour later Miguel came up to me with a big smile on his face, handed me a mango and walked away. I guess there was no hard feelings and life goes on. For now i'm back at the pool at a hotel to get my internet fix. There is such a nice breeze, so i think i might stick around for a while and enjoy.

I'm Back
So i guess the vacation is over and i'm back to reality. It was so nice to be able to see my family and take a nice long hot bath (haha) but now it's back to cold water and constant sanitizing. The trip back to the D.R. was fairly smooth except for the turbulence just before landing which actually had me garbing the chair in front of me. But then once thru customs i waved down a guy to help with my monster sized bags cause will i'm a girl and that's what we do. I didn't think anything of it until levi pulled the car around and i asked him for some pesos to pay the guy. Well he didn't have any and after spending 10 mins trying to find someplace to get some money we had to sheepishly tell the guys sorry but we don't have any money. I don't think he was to impressed but he took it pretty well. So off we go up over the mountain. Well we tried to go up over the mountain but as soon as we start to climb the car dies. No gas. The lady at the rental said it was full but i guess not. Levi manages to get the car turned around and we are able to coast back down the hill to a gas station hoping that they take credit cards. Thankfully they do and we are off again. finally we arrive and i am back home with my guy and my puppy.
I spent the next three days trying to get the house back to my girly standards and i think i am almost there. It's finally starting to look like a home. Tonight is my first meeting back and it's time to get my Spanish head back on. Lets just hope i haven't lost to much while i was away.
Anyway i should go get some more studying done but i will try to keep you all posted again about life here in the D.R. but please be patient as we do not have the internet at home.
