Ok so i'm finally getting around to adding some pictures. We are kinda at the mercy of friends and family when it comes to computing right now. Not only do we not have internet but our power cord also broke so we can only use our computer at ben and nikeas so we can steal their cord.

Anyway things are lonely around the house right now. Levi is Cabarete right now for about 5 days. There is a big surf comp going on starting today and Levi was invited out to sell paintings and paint surfboards and stuff. We managed to get him a room at a hostel and the pictures on the internet makes it look nicer then any hotel i have ever stayed in. levis response was "it rocks". He finally got to make a roadtrip on his bike. So Pica and i are on our own. Well maybe Pica is but the girls here take pretty good care of me. I stayed with Hannah and Lacey last night so i guess i should go check on Pica pretty soon.

Last week we made a trip into Santo Domingo and i FINALLY got my salon stuff. The trick was getting all levis painting stuff out so i could set up. I also finally got to see bethel while we were in the capital. It's so pretty there. It's like driving into a little paradise. When i get the pics from lacey i'll post some and do a little explaining. new painting

V.I.P.

So our time with Zach and Jordan came and went so fast. It was nice to finally show them what life in the tropics is really like. haha. It's not all sun, and sand and pina coladas. A few bug bites, a Dominican tattoo ( a burn from a moto pipe) and a sunburn or two but they made it through. After two weeks of entertaining it was time to get back to reality for a few weeks.

This past weekend was our special assembly day in english. The english assemblies here are just amazing. About 95% of the people there are foreigners so all the talks are geared towards need greeters. There was 821 in attendance and within that 25 were from the Russian group. The illustrations that they use here are so applicable. For example, When you are on the beach and you read the label on your sunscreen what good is it going to do if you just read it and don't apply it. It was also brought out that there is now 8 different languages being preached in the D.R. As a matter of fact they have just started an unofficial french group here in L.T. But even with all the growth there is still 10's of thousands in the D.R. that have not been preached to in spanish. So much work still to be done.

After the assembly there was about 21 of us the headed to an all inclusive. They have a deal on right now for $11 a night. After some number crunching we figured out that it would be cheaper to go to the assembly and the resort rather then just the assembly. Seeing as there were so many of us, we were able to rent a van and driver to take us there and back so all in all it was cheaper then levi and i having to rent a car and get a hotel for the night. Can't complain about that. It was kinda funny too because when we got to the resort we realized we were not the only ones with the idea. I'm sure half of the resort was witnesses form the assembly. There were watchtowers and awakes every where. We met so many witnesses from all over the D.R. It sure made for a lot nicer of an atmosphere at the resort. If was almost like an extended assembly. On the way home from the resort, one of families from L.T. that was with us was broke down on the side of the road. Thank goodness they were ahead of us. They managed to get the truck going again but they were not sure how far it would make it so the mom and three kids piled in with us and Ben continued on with Jesse. Know it's back to realty with no one to cook and clean for us, no air-conditioning and no hot water. But i'm ok with that. I think 4 days in an all inclusive is about all i can handle. It was time to get back to our puppy and start applying that sunscreen.
