Perogy Fest

4 more people have now been introduced to a wonderful thing called perogies. Sunday afternoon was perogy fest at our house and i think it's safe to say things went pretty good. Not to sure how grandma manages to make 300 at a time seeing as i had a hard enough time making just 45. Might have something to do with the hot, humid weather and a lack of a real freezer. Anyway it's done now and i think grandma would be proud.

The brothers have been very busy with the planning of the hall build. There is alot of things to arrange and not a lot of time to do it. It doesn't help that things here take twice as long to get done. The thing that surprised me the most is the fact that they actually have a brother that is in charge of hair. Yes that's right, I said hair. Apparently the sisters at the build are allotted hair dos every so many weeks. Needless to say the brother in charge was pretty excited to hear that i was volunteering my services. I thought it was funny when to CO's wife suggested that i could do hair for the build but now i understand.

I start spanish lessons tomorrow with Sara ( a sister from Spain) so hopefully she can help me a little more. This whole learning a new language thing is had. I'm starting to understand more and more but i little help will be nice. I hear she's a good teacher so i hope things go well.

I hear that the white stuff is starting to fly back home so just another friendly reminder that we have a spare room here waiting to be used.

Three More Weeks

So we are now officially in our new place and loving it. I finally have all the bags unpacked and have realized in all my packing and unpacking and repacking that i missed putting a few things back in my bags. Oh well i've lived without them for this long so they must not be a necessity.

It's been a busy week with the co's visit but lots of fun. There were so many at the meeting yesterday that we sat outside to make more room for studies to sit inside. It seamed like a good idea at the time but once the sun went down i remembered from last year why it's not so much fun. The mosquitoes came out in full force and i am reaping the consequences today. But on a happy note the brothers from the building commity were here this weekend and it was announced last night that the construction of the new hall will begin between Nov. 9 - 15. Hence the three more weeks. Needless to say everyone was pretty excited.

Thursday was such a hot day in service that i ended up taking the scissors to my own hair and chopping it off. It is so much cooled now. The power went out when i was half way through so by the time i was done i was completely covered in hair with no way to have a shower. Thankfully we live on the beach so i just ran to the ocean and jumped in.

Speaking of the ocean i want snorkeling for the first time this year and what did i see, a GIANT jellyfish. No kidding it was thhhhiiiiiissssssssssssss big. I HATE jellyfish.

So we finally have a chance to relax today and what do i decide to do, make perogies. I forgot how time consuming they are but seeing as non of the americans know what they are i figured i better make some to show them what they are missing. Suddenly i am realizing how small the freezer is so this might be a two day project plus we just found out everyone is heading to the beach sooooooo time to take a break.

Levis been busy painting and getting the web site going so check it out if you like. www.oneyeartolive.ca. He has also decided to take up fishing here but has yet to catch anything. hehe sorry Levi.

Anyway miss you all and thanks for leaving comments, we love to hear from you guys.

It must be illegal to move this many times in one year

  • Yesterday we got the key to our new place on the beach. I snapped a few pictures when we got there today to show all you guys what it looks like. It's not huge but it's all we need plus company. I was also pretty excited to have my washing machine delivered today. So glad i don't have to do laundry by hand this year but not to sure if i like the idea of Levi getting a hammock on the same day. I think that might give him the wrong idea about how things are going to work down here.

We'll gradually move over the next few days seeing as we only have the bike to move things with. By now i think we can officially be considered professional movers. Seriously how many time can two people move in one year. Maybe now i can stop living out of a suitcase.

study, study ,study

So after many hours and hours of practicing reading the paragraphs for the study, she was not home. I was going to say i studied for nothing but i guess that's not true. It was good practice after all. However i have been using my presentation in service and i think they even understand what i'm saying. Yah for me. Not to hard to place magazines down here so i need to made a new presentation with maybe a brochure or something that i can keep using.

One of the restaurant owners down here has given Levi a wall to hang his paintings on for a month. We'll see how the month goes and maybe it can be a regular thing. Needless to say he is pretty excited about it and hey any little bit of extra money helps.

It looks like we might be able to move sooner then we thought. The sister that is taking over for us house sitting will be here in a day or two so now we just have to see if the apartment is ready. Levi has been waiting and waiting for a tv so he can play the video games that i brought him. Let game night commence.

Sorry about the lack of pictures. Seeing as this is the third time we've been here, we don't take the camera out as much as we use to. I'll try harder to remember to take it with me or i could just post some old pics. No one would know the difference, right?????

Oh, by the way Cindy i just had a coco bar for you and it was sooooo good. Yummmm. Haha.

Anyway, hope you all are well. Adios mi amigos.
